ELPALAFQUEN is located at 41º 03´ 24.3´´ south latitude and 71º 08´ 58.4´´ west longitude and in an altitude of 778 mt above sea level, inside Nahuel Huapi National Park, Río Negro province, argentinian Patagonia. Elpalfquen is over the very shores of the mouth of the Limay River over national route 40 (former route 237) at 17 km from the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.
